Privacy Policy — Scrabble Words

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Scrabble Words does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, contact details or location.

How the app works

All word checking happens on your device, against word lists built into the app (Collins Scrabble Words and the NASPA Word List). The words you search for are never sent anywhere.

Usage statistics

The app may send a small amount of usage information to our server, linked to a random identifier for your copy of the app. This identifier does not reveal your name, email address or Apple Account details to us. The information may include:

We use this to understand how the app is used, to improve it, and to manage the free trial and the full-version purchase. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the app. We do not use it for advertising and do not combine it with data from other apps or websites.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells us whether a purchase was made or refunded so that the app can unlock the full version correctly.

No third parties

This app does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services, and does not share or sell any data to third parties.

Retention and your rights

Usage statistics are kept only for as long as they are useful for the purposes above. You can ask for a copy of the data associated with your copy of the app, ask us to delete it, or ask any question about it, by emailing the address below. Your app ID, shown on the Privacy page in the app, lets us find it. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here with a new date, and the app's App Store privacy details will be updated to match.
